As the 70s were ending, race entry fees were starting to rise.  This January 1979 letter to the Clifton Track Club newsletter by Don Connolly explains why.  The last two words are more FUN!!!

  1. It's funny how much race fees have gone up since, and many races still struggle with the bullet points listed above! I would gladly pay less today for a more streamlined version of racing, even if it didn't include some of the perks.
